About Us

Formed in 1979, the ANCHORMEN, based in Asheboro, NC, continue to be one of the premier groups in Christian Music today. With over four decades in ministry they continue a rich heritage of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ delivered by very talented and spirit filled men. "We sang in five or six states for the first few years before embarking on a more "full-time" schedule in 1985. God has kept his hand on the ANCHORMEN throughout the years", states ANCHORMEN owner/manager, Tim Bullins.
Thru the years, many great vocalists and musicians have taken the stage as members of this fine group including: Terry Carter, Steve Ladd, Tony Jarman, Chris Jenkins, David Sutton, Brian Elliott, Biney English, Dale Forbes, G.W. Southard, Phillip Hughes, David Hill, David Walker, Keith Casstevens, Jeff Chapman, Aaron McCune, David Hester, Joey Gore, Will Lane, Jamie Caldwell, Paul Harkey, Chip Pullen, Karl Rice and others. Each member brought a different dynamic to the group and helped mold it into the continued success it is today.
Their repertoire of songs have included such top radio singles as, "Some Things I Know", "Everything But Time", “Come To The Fountain", “I’ve Been Touched", "I Feel Like Running", "Come On In", "Borrowed and Barely Used Tomb", "Resting Place", "I'll Meet You On The Mountain"  along with countless others including their first  #1, "Giver Of Life". While continuing to produce top charting hits.The legacy they were founded upon still remains their guiding principle and their #1 mission-seeing lives changed. This purpose driven devotion continues today and results in inspiring excitement the ANCHORMEN are best known for.
Audiences can expect an evening of toe tapping, high-energy singing, filled with laughter, live music along with  praise and worship including old classics to todays  gospel favorites. The ANCHORMEN travel worldwide, performing 200 plus dates per year in all varieties of major events; Concert Halls, Cruises, Arenas, Festivals, Fairs, Corporate Events, Churches, Theme Parks as well as International venues.
Not only do the ANCHORMEN hope to bring joy, peace and comfort to their audiences, but effectively lead them to a sincere knowledge of Christ through His message. They have made it their mission to stay faithful to the call placed on their lives.

 

WESLEY SMITH has enjoyed a lifetime as one of southern gospel musics most sought after tenors. He has sung with greats such as The Dixie Echoes, The Blackwood Quartet, The New Dove Brothers and Palmetto State Quartet. In 2011, Wesley along with Palmetto State Quartet sang backup for The Judds reunion tour. His ability to communicate and minister to audiences makes him a vital part of the ANCHORMEN. He adds to the live music segment with his keyboard and guitar playing. Wesley, his wife Leah, and their four children reside in Double Springs, AL.

 

 

 

 

 

Lead singer, CHRIS QUINNEY lives in Savannah, GA. His phenomanal lead singing and versital style along with his bass guitar playing during the live music segment, makes him a hit with audiences everywhere. Chris spent several years with his family group, The Quinneys, and most recently with Kings Cross from south GA before joining the ANCHORMEN. When off the road, he enjoys a nice round of golf and working in his production studio. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Erin and their five children.

 

 

 

 

 

 

At only 19 years old, Wilmington, NC native CONNOR BOST is the youngest member of the ANCHORMEN. After accepting Christ at the age of 10, he felt the need to do more. He began singing with his dads quartet at 14 years old. He later joined the popular Wilmington Celebration Choir before accepting a position with The Greenes. During his high school days, he played trombone and was the drum major in the band. His smooth, rich baritone vocals and pleasant smile wins audiences every night. During his down time, he enjoys marketing and graphic design.
